Miss Fisher
May. 12th, 2026 08:37 amWETA, back when it could be received reliably, occasionally broadcast episodes of "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries". I'm looking further into it, as I'm finally getting to watch the whole bloody series instead of little nibbles of only the first three seasons. WETA did the same cruel game with "McLeod's Daughters", showing only the first two seasons over and over.
IN 2018, I injured my left knee rather badly, and had to sit. A lot. For months. No tendons were actually torn, so surgery wouldn't help. But tendons have practically no circulation, so there's no doing anything about them but wait......... So the guys bought me a cheap TV at Wal-mart. It said onn.Roku on it. Brian rigged me a cheap antenna. We stopped cable a long time ago when the bill increased yet again because they added another ESPN channel. Disgusting.
Since I hadn't a working left knee, and the certified MDs said it would take a long time to mend, I watched TV and mended every item of clothing I had the slightest wear or tear in. Then Brian's, then Brent's. Then went back to mundane beadwork.
Bead people have a slanted way of looking at every little thing. Would it look good as a necklace? could I put a hole in it that would accommodate a jump ring or string? are there enough of them of similar size and different colours to make a suncatcher? Am I clever enough to design a beautiful suncatcher from these beads? I'm still awed by hazelnuts, but haven't figured out how to put their inherent loveliness into jewelry. Some things don't readily lend themselves to human adornment. We just have to look at them in good light and adore their beauty. The depth of the hues in a filbert's stripes is amazing. I just crcked and ate them all my life. Pine cones give me similar pause. They're so mathematically wonderful.
And if you're wondering: Yes, I really do think this way, in these sorts of words. This is my non-cussing voice. If I actually typed the way I think of the world and those who run it I'd be shot in a second. I like words. They're fun toys, like legos. Ooh, I should look up the linguistic root of that toy name. I love legos. The old ones from back when they were blocks.
Grammarly just informed me that I sound snobby and high-falutin'. Grammarly doesn't like a whole lot of the ways I use language. It especially dislikes my use of "I'd've". Should I instead type "Ida" to be more "folksy"? Aisha (or however she spells it) Rascoe and her sweet folkisiness has caused me to gag on Weekend Edition Sunday. Sad. I used to like it. She even makes the Puzzle icky. How Will puts up with her is a tribute to his stiff upper lip. How nicey.
